Ben Bonython follows from Galatians 1:11-24 with thoughts about decision making, wisdom in engagement, same but different, importance of unity, not influenced by… and non-need of recognition and about the power of fear and its effect on faith, as we look at Galatians 2:1-10
Ben Bonython shares from the 7th word from the Cross - Trust.
By this time it was about noon, and darkness fell across the whole land until three o’clock. The light from the sun was gone. And suddenly, the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn down the middle.6 Then Jesus shouted, “Father, I entrust my spirit into your hands!” And with those words he breathed his last.
Pr Barry Silverback shares from the 6th word from the Cross - It is Finished.
Hebrews 5 says
During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him
We can now begin where Jesus said it was finished. His finishing is our beginning. And now we learn also to obey not to produce anything through works, but to serve Him.
28 Later, knowing that all was now completed, and so that the Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, "I am thirsty." 29 A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus' lips." (John 19:28-29)
