Remembering & Reflecting - by Ben Bonython

I often reflect on those moments when we gather to worship, and the Lord speaks to us through His Word that is more often than not, shared by our Worship Leaders week by week, who share a scripture that the Lord has laid upon their heart. The Word of God opens our heart and richly encourages us in our worship and focus upon the Lord.

I believe in the daily bread of God, and I look forward what the Lord will say to us tomorrow.

But there is also great value in reflecting back on what the Lord has spoken to us as we worship Him! From just our current year, I list a few verses that have been, and may we be encouraged again!

Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. (Ps 73:23 – 28)

Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases…(Psalm 103)

The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. (Heb 1:1-3)

Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord. Repeat them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy….Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Saviour. (Hab 3:2,17-19)

Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory in the heavens. Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger….what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? (Psalm 8)

…He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit…(Tit 3:5)
