Be Still - by Jeremy Duke

We sang some beautiful words at church this morning from Psalm 46:10:

"Be still and know that I am God"

I have heard someone say before that they meditate on these words every morning, but they take each word at a time to help focus their minds and hearts on God, like this:

"Be."

"Be Still."

"Be Still and know."

"Be still and know that I am."

"Be still and know that I am God."

I would encourage you to try it this week, and let your mind and heart meditate on each word.

Tell your mind and heart to be still. Focus on God.

Speak to your mind and heart - that they may know something.

What should they know? That God is. He is who He says He is.

He is Yahweh, whose steadfast love never ceases, whose mercies never come to an end (Lamentations 3:22-23), the faithful God who keeps covenant love to thousands (Deut 7:9). I'm sure you can think of more.

This is what our hearts and minds need to hear every morning!

God bless,

Jeremy
