Wonder, Love and Awe

I recently read this prayer from a young primary school student.

“Dear GOD, I didn’t think orange went with purple until I saw the sunset YOU made on Tuesday. That was cool.”

GOD takes the initiative to get our attention, because HE love us. I was reminded of the cartoon strip of Hagar the Horrible. The cartoon shows a character kneeling to pray, saying to GOD, ‘It’s not easy to believe in you GOD. We never see YOU. How come YOU never show yourself? How do we know YOU exist?’ At this moment a flower springs to life next to him & a volcano erupts in the distance. An eclipse of the sun turns the sky black & a star shoots across the stratosphere. A tidal wave crashes over him, lightning cracks, a bush burns, a stone rolls away from the entrance to a tomb. He pulls himself from the mud, dripping wet, surrounded by darkness, as stars die light years away. Okay, okay......’ he mumbles. ‘I give up. Every time I bring up the subject, all we get is interruptions.’
But perhaps it’s the interruptions we ought to be looking at. GOD takes every initiative to show HIS love for us. HIS invitation to us is to be part of the life of FATHER, SON & HOLY SPIRIT The purpose of our salvation is our union with the TRINITY of grace.
