Rebirth // Anew Series

God is at work making all things new.  Discover today that God has done and is doing in you and everywhere around you. Anew is an adverb that means 'in a new or different and typically more positive way.'  (Oxford Dictionary)

New things are everywhere in scripture - and what makes the ‘new’ and ‘anew’ and ‘again’ even more interesting is that it is something to behold....  The prophet Isaiah records God speaking about the 'new' in Is. 43:19 - Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

In this series, we will look at the practice of, and the profound implications for us, as we journey together, in Christ – as one people, anew!
Maybe this series is another opportunity to renew your faith and expectation that God is still at work in every circumstance.  Maybe it is a reminder to be active in prayer and faith, expecting something new to happen in your life, or in the life of another.  After all, faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see (Heb 11:1).

Resurrection Sunday - Believe // Easter Series>not ashamed

This Easter, we will look at what it means to not be ashamed.  Jesus went to the cross and faced the full shame of the humiliating and torturous death, even as He was deserted by His own, unfairly tried and wrongly sentenced to death according to the will of the people.  This Easter, we focus our minds and hearts of the life and death and resurrection of Jesus and we find ourselves being ever increasing in thanks.

Sharing Service // The Art of Reflection Series

A sharing service is where people from our congregation share for a few minutes on a reflection.  The reflection could be centered on the series we study about reflection, or it could be something they read, or something they read in the Word.  The idea is that we encourage one another as we share our reflection.

The Light // The Art of Reflection Series

I come to see, I come to understand and I come to believe...

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.  God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him."  John 3:16-17

What do you believe?  Take time to reflect on the Word, and allow the light of the Word to shine through you - and know that Jesus came to give you eternal life.

When People Pray // The Art of Reflection Series

When people pray, God Moves.

“Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. My eyes will be open and my ears attentive to every prayer made in this place.”  2 Chronicles 7:14-15

Take a step in prayer, pray for a few minutes today and again this week. Pray with another person and for each other. Pray for others at work or school.  Take a step in prayer.

The Best Pathway // The Art of Reflection Series

Ps 32:8-11

The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life.     I will advise you & watch over you. 9 Do not be like a senseless horse or mule that needs a bit & bridle to keep it under control.” 10 Many sorrows come to the wicked, but unfailing love surrounds those who trust the Lord. 11 So rejoice in the Lord & be glad, all you who obey him! Shout for joy, all you whose hearts are pure!

Perfect Law // The Art of Reflection Series

James 1:23-25 talks about the perfect law as Jesus. Why did James say the perfect law and not Jesus? We all live by a code or rules of laws.  We have our cultural laws and the way we do things - these are our laws. We all strive to fulfill our laws yet in the end, it does not fulfill us.  We need the perfect law. We need Jesus.
