With the example of the BICC Quiz Night, it is our shared desire to create a gathering space for youth ministries across the Eastern Suburbs to join together in worship, prayer and fellowship.
This concept was ‘tested’ to some degree, in 2018 and again in 2022, running a youth event concurrent with the Quiz Night, of which we were very pleased and encouraged in being United even more!
Since the most recent quiz night, the youth ministries of Austral-Asian Community Church, Burnside City Uniting Church and Burnside Family Church stand committed to empowering and supporting this initiative and opportunity before us. Our heart and desire is to be ‘United’ for two to four gatherings of young people across a year.
We want these events to be worthy of invitation that young people might invite and bring their friends and neighbours to gather with our Christian high school aged young people.
In order to build on the momentum of the Quiz Night, we have scheduled a worship night centred on prayer for Friday 23 September 2022 hosted at Austral-Asian Community Church. Part of the night will be given to praying for our local schools and PCW workers.
We are hoping that the youth ministry of churches across the BICC, and in the region, might join together for this United gathering. It would be a great opportunity for Pastors and Youth Leaders to ‘test the water’ and make up their own minds about whether such a gathering is worthy of commitment and prayer support.
