Mary Had A Little Lamb - by Elizabeth Reynolds

I was quite taken by a communion message we had a while ago from Devinder Raju, where he recited the words of the first line of the Nursery Rhyme, "Mary Had A Little Lamb"...

Mary had a little lamb, its fleece was white as snow.

And of course, he was referring to that Lamb as Jesus Christ. My brain went ahead and recited the second line and I was blown over by how much these two lines together describe the spotless Lamb of God - Jesus.

...And everywhere that Mary went, the Lamb was sure to go.

I was very touched and blessed by this, and ever since, I have wanted to adjust the rest of the Nursery Rhyme's lyrics to continue the story of Jesus. Finally, I got around to it so that I could share it with Beth and Emily's playgroup they attend weekly, and I thought I would share it with you too...

Mary had a little lamb, little lamb, little lamb

Mary had a little lamb, Its fleece was white as snow.

And everywhere that Mary went, Mary went, Mary went

Everywhere that Mary went, the Lamb was sure to go.

The Lamb's name is Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ

The Lamb's name is Jesus Christ, our Saviour and our Lord.

He came to take our sin away, sin away, sin away

He came to take our sin away, we were His great reward.

He sacrificed His life one day, life one day, life one day

He sacrificed His life one day, upon a cross of wood.

He beat the grave and rose again, rose again, rose again

He beat the grave and rose again, oh yes, our God is good.

Now I am called to be His friend, be His friend, be His friend

Now I am called to be His friend, because His grace did flow

And everywhere that I may roam, I may roam, I may roam

Everywhere that I may roam, my Lamb is sure to go.
