Will God Ever Reject Us? - by Jeremy Duke

Will God ever reject us? Check out the logic of God's word to Jeremiah.

God promises the new covenant to his people in Jeremiah 31:33 -

For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Then he says, Jeremiah 31:37 -
If the heavens above can be measured,
and the foundations of the earth below can be explored,
then I will cast off all the offspring of Israel
for all that they have done,
declares the Lord.

That's it. If you can ever measure the heavens above or the earth below, God will reject his people. Guess what? It's 2,500 years after these words - and we're no closer to measuring the universe. In fact every time we look we realise it's bigger than we think (and getting bigger all the time!) We're ever going to be able to measure it!

Praise God, who keeps his promises and does not reject his people!
